Frequently Asked Questions
1.How do I enlist one of HMS' professionals for one of my projects?
Please send the specfics of your project to us at hms@hms-studios.com.We make custom props by request for motion picture, television, theatre and other productions as well as for retail sale; along with prototype products for toy manufacturers and others. We also offer molding, casting and vacu-forming services if you need an existing part or prop reproduced.
2. What if I want Star Trek props or products?
As a general policy, HMS cannot make Star Trek or other studio-copyrighted props for sale direct to the general public, and this includes 'do-it-yourself' parts and graphics proprietary to HMS and our contractors used to make them. Roddenberry Productions carries a line of high quality and authentic 'build it yourself' kits and finished props featured in the Star Trek franchise.
3.What about Prop Rentals?
HMS can rent out props and custom build rental props; but we are not a rental house in the traditional sense as we do not keep a wide variety of stock on hand. There are several well-established prop rental houses in the Los Angeles area which can help with your rental needs. You're welcome to contact us and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction if we can't help you ourselves.
4. How long should I expect the turn around time on my product to be?
This is dependent upon the product itself. Please contact us either by email or phone and we will work with you to have your project ready when you need it!
5. Do you have any job openings?
HMS is not currently hiring. However, please feel free to send in your resume or portfolio to hms@hms-studios.com. Please send all content in a pdf format.
